WHO WE ARE

American Friends of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Inc. (“American Friends”), a tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization was incorporated in Delaware in 1999. The Internal Revenue Service recognizes the organization as tax-exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) as a public charity described in Section 509 (a)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.

American Friends’ goals and objectives are to promote, encourage and foster understanding and appreciation by the American public the plays and poetry of William Shakespeare.

Also, American Friends through tax-exempt monetary contributions and donations supports the preservation of the Shakespeare houses and education programs of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom.

All members of American Friends of SBT work pro bono. Your entire tax-deductible donations are used for scholarships or remitted to the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
